The Pignaverde Foundation is delighted to present the new "Abundanza" project, which is dedicated to the restoration and long-term maintenance of species-rich forest meadows. These valuable areas have lost much of their biodiversity in recent years due to a lack of care - once diverse habitats have become increasingly overgrown and impoverished.
"Abundanza", Rhaeto-Romanic for "richness" or "abundance", brings back exactly what our forests urgently need: Biodiversity. The aim is to record, digitize and gradually revitalize selected meadow sites in the Vaz/Obervaz and Lantsch/Lenz areas. The areas are carefully cleared of overgrowth, supplemented with thorny and flower-bearing shrubs and sustainably preserved through maintenance work.
Sandro Sutter, forester for the municipality of Vaz/Obervaz, initiated the project with great innovative strength. His commitment to near-natural and sustainable forest management is groundbreaking for us - so we are all the more pleased to be able to realize "Abundanza" together with him.
Forest meadows are key ecological stepping stones: they serve as a refuge for specialized animal and plant species and strengthen the resilience of our ecosystems. The Pignaverde Foundation is convinced of the potential of this project - and cordially invites you to support it.
