In the Riz area, above Lake Marmorera, work is beginning along the Julier Pass road. First of all, the employees of the Surses forestry office will clear the compacted spruce stand to make room for young larch trees, which will then be planted there. Larch trees are more robust than spruce trees and after a few years they will do their job and protect against rockfall, avalanches and landslides. The project is being financed in full by its project sponsor, Passione Engadina.
