Laudinella Group sponsors project for sniffer dogs Anco and Dyson

As part of this partnership, the Pignaverde Foundation was given the opportunity to present itself with an information stand at the open house held to mark the opening of the Laudinella Hotel following the addition of new floors to the building. Numerous visitors took advantage of the opportunity to learn about the innovative project and the use of sniffer dogs in forest protection.

A special highlight were the two bark beetle detection dogs, Anco and Dyson, who demonstrated their impressive skills on site. Their demonstrations aroused great interest and impressively showed how important their work is in cooperation with the forestry service. No human being or machine is able to detect a bark beetle infestation earlier than a specially trained detection dog.

The project "Bark beetle detection dogs Anco and Dyson #08/4" comprisesbasic training of the dogs in three different aggregation pheromones for early detection of bark beetles, comprehensive practical tests, and regular maintenance training. The aim is to identify infested trees at an early stage and thus provide forestry operations with an effective tool for prevention and containment.

Early detection of bark beetles makes a decisive contribution to preserving the protective forest in the mountain regions of Graubünden and thus to protecting people, infrastructure, and biodiversity.

The Pignaverde Foundation would like to express its sincere gratitude to the Laudinella Group for its valuable support of this important project and for its clear commitment to sustainable practices and active forest protection.
